So, Rudolf, send them to me, So I can take a look!
I think that I've already said to you earlier that I will take it to you, don't you remember?
what is the deal. the whole story is not about file formats, but about incapable controllers
when wouter reads a whole track, I guess the data structure is most general purpose.
the fast tool needs no multiple spinnings that make the snail. but then something is missing.
then the new file format is about what is missing.
and every time you add one more of those bells and whistles that could be missing,
when you add a whistle, the file format needs another whistle.
couldnt one somehow store it in a general purpose track datastructure and keep missing parts 0.
And I know nothing about that chipset from Western Digital.
It would take months to understand it and make lots of tests.
We will try to support it in a new version of DSK-PRO.
Surely it won't take that long, you are after all TOP 3 in the world by a HUGE MILE, with 30 years of experience.
I have original disks of Akin which I call sell to you, if you're interested in continuing development.
that was awesome!
without a doubt...
That interface from Rafael does not have any support to read and write 1.44 disks.
It has support for the 500Kbps transfer rate mode required for those disks. Could you elaborate on why you state that this isn't enough and what else would be needed to support 1.44Mb disks then?
I mean any software support. There is no BIOS to support 1.44 Mb.
One exception though : the GR8BIT storage subsystem
http://kb.gr8bit.ru/DN0003/GR8BIT-DN0003-Storage-subsystem-v...

Diskettes formatted with 9 sectors per track (360K/720K), and diskettes formatted with 18 sectors per track (1.44MB). GR8BIT disk ROM does not follow Media Descriptor preset diskette configuration conventions, and it gets diskette configuration information from its boot sector. Storage subsystem v.3.0 automatically updates physical configuration of the diskette in its tables, and operates proper diskette information even if system does not invoke DSKCHG or GETDPB system calls (e.g. Metal Gear 2 bootable 720K diskette).
I mean any software support. There is no BIOS to support 1.44 Mb.
I am under the impression you are TOP 3 in the world in direct access to FDCs, by a HUGE MILE, so a lack of BIOS is not a problem to you, right? You can use direct access.
Of course, you are right. But I don't have the time.
Thanks for your help bud...
By the way, the "Tower of Cabin" is also protected?
