@ToriHino
I'm news to Roboplay and Robosid, but I think that yours could be the definitive Music Player for MSX !
What a great jobs !

I'm sure maybe my questions aren't new in this forum, so excuse me, but I'm really excited listening lightforce of mr. Hubbard after days passed playing it with friends or Amiga MODs on my beloved MSX !!!

Q1 - I'm trying to add ROBOPLAY to MULTIMENTE to browse-and-play music files, it works but not with all extensions. Are you planning to do something like MULTIPLAY, a mini graphic equalizator and a file browser included in ROBOPLAY ?
Q2 - Are you planning to merge ROBOPLAY, ROBOSID and ROBOMIDI in the same APP?
Q3 - Does exist a complete table with the combination of what files can ROBOLPLAY play using which HW? It would be fantastic !!

Thanks for your great job and regards

Q1: For MULTIMENTE you can also add a specific player for any extension, as example the following line in MMRET.DAT
.WLF ROBOPLAY IMF.PLY $C
will play .WLF files with the IMF player.

Q2: Regarding the merge: MIDI playback on an external MIDI device is already possible through the MIDI-PAC (using the MID_EXT.PLY player), maybe more adapters to be supported in the future (obvious one MSX-MIDI). RoboSID is more difficult since this is build around an 6502 emulator which takes quite a lot of the TPA memory.
The 'other' SID file format (Compute! .MUS, http://www.c64music.co.uk/) should probably be possible since that does not need the emulator.

Q3: On the project introduction page there is a list of all supported hardware and related file formats / extensions.
The players and interface is almost completely separate from the main application, so replacing it with another (graphical) frontend is possible. Currently I don't have plans for that yet.

I'll look into both ADL (OPl2) and ADG (OPL3) to see if those can be supported as well

Not a lot more than 'still on the backlog' unfortunately.

Good job ToriHino,
RoboPlay is getting better and better.

If you are looking for new formats to add, how about:
- TriloTracker (SCC & FM)
- Arkos Tracker (AKG, AKM et AKY)
- Realfun 3
- Lovely Composer

Do you have an idea of the execution time of your different players?
If they don't take too big a percentage of the frame, it might be interesting to see how these players could be integrated into a game.

Taht's true !

I think that the .ply driver structure and in general your work is simply incredible.
I'm dreaming about:
- a simply file browser (that show only supported format) for direct launch
- a basic graphic with bar dancing

and it would become the definitive one !

Solved.

With Multimente with some file you MUST decline the .PLY driver to use

Using ROBOPLAY MID_FM.PLY song.mid

it works !
