Tantalos: New Interactive Adventure... in English?

Hello to everybody!

I have just finished an Interactive Adventure for MSX and MSX2 computers. For now, it is only in spanish, but i'm thinking about to translate it to english in order to reach the international audience.

On the other hand, i'm not plenty of free time and i can understand that the genre is a small niche into another niche.

So the question is: would you be you really interested in a international version of Tantalos?

I would need a decent number of interested users in order to start working on it, so if any of you is interested in an english version, please let me know here.

The game would be translated by a better english writter than me, of course.

There is just no enough information to tell if I would really play it or not... It looks nice, but in the end graphics in this kind of game are just decoration and the game play-ability comes from totally different values.

If it is an adventure that seems to work in a logical way in a logical space, has interesting story line, does not make you feel lost in an endless maze, frustrate you by making you guess the exact sentence to get some simple thing done, kill you for nothing, lock you in too tight pipeline (all needs to be done in this one and only one order) or lock you to a loop with no any hint how to get forward then... there is a change I get excited about it.

The thing is that there are quite endless ways to spoil a good text adventure and it is extremely hard to keep it interesting and make sure the player is gently pushed to right direction when ever he is lost... Unfortunately few graphic examples don't really tell anything about these aspects.

I'm speaking with a friend about starting the game translation. I will bring news to you as soon as i can.

Yes, of course. You can say the same thing about any game genre isn't it?.

All that i can say to you is that i have published a free (and less polished) versión of the game without graphics in "sotano bbs" so everybody can try the game. All the things that are you talking about are the things i try to evade in the game playability.

With that in mind, I have sacrified locations and puzzles in order to give the player multiple solutions, verbs and expresiones to solve the same situations, but there are some parser and ram limits, of course.

Indeed, you are right... I guess what I was trying to say is that few English words about game story line, play environment, motivation behind development, role models or play mechanics would maybe raise the interest a lot more among English-speaking community than just these few not translated screenshots... Especially since this is a text adventure after all...

What you say now makes me feel that this is not just yet another "I wan't to make parser"-project, but you have put good amount of work to create script & meaningful content as well.
