yes, that remark was based on Nemesis 3 indeed, hence the bullets
Just checked. The bullets are blue-ish in Nemesis 3 ;P
Those red sprites are (supposed) to be feathers falling after the bird takes off.
Anyway. These GFX are very under construction. I made them this weekend as our secret project is stalled due to some friendly piece of code called "VUNDO"......
ARTRAG: yea I know, it's just that immediately I had to think of Nemesis 3
Huey: mm odd, I recall them as orange.. perhaps the MSX2 palette differs here? Then again, I may be wrong, ..oh who carez anyway 'bout those colors ..
MOAM will make you think about a lot of games, but in most cases it will be intentional.
Copy from one and it is plagiarism, copy from many and it is research
Also, just pass plagiarism off as a tribute and you'll get away with it.
Hehehe. Yes There are a lot of influences in MOAM. Problem is that I sometimes do not remember making the GFX myself or if it was ripped from some other game for some initial tests.
I recently found out that the 'exploding' sprites that we use after killing a normal enemy are actualy from an existing shoot-em-up on MSX.
Ok. From what game is this one:
Copy from one and it is plagiarism, copy from many and it is research
Great sentence!
And flapping its wings to make all kinds of thing to fly around.......Or having it pick up rocks and dropping it above the players head.
This exactly what I have tried to suggest previously....
I really like to see MSX games which have some "real life" feeling in them.
I got so excited after reading that flapping wings make air to move and so dust or leaves, whatever start to fly in the air. NICE!
And just as nice was to read about having digitized sound effects which doesn´t slow game down!! At last MSX can have same thing as Commodore 64! NICE TOO!
I really like to see MSX games which have some "real life" feeling in them.
I always had similar thoughts with, for instance, Vampire Killer.
So those skeletons throw bones at you.
Where do they get them from?
From their own body? Wouldn't they collapse after doing so after, like, 5 times?
Those skeletons use "infinite bones" poke....
