Hi. I have a problem while playing Psycho World on the BlueMSX emulator. The game can't seem to get past from World 1. After I beat the boss and get the World 1 complete message, I get a black screen and nothing happens after that.

I have downloaded the game from 4 different sites and the problem remains.

Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated so I can play this excellent game.

First, eject the disk image, then push space.

You'll get a red-framed "disk error" dialogue pop-up.

Re-insert the disk image and push space again.

World 2 will load.

Have fun with the game! Smile

It worked, thanks a lot!

But I'm wondering if there's something in partcular that causes this problem, and if it's possible to avoid it with certain settings or tweaks. Or if this is a normal work-around to make the game work.

Does this happen on a real MSX as well? And on other emulators?

Unfortunately I wouldn't know. I don't own a MSX system or another emulator. But the BlueMSX seems like an excellent emulator and Psycho World is the only game I've had a problem with.

But I think that if this was a common problem there would be some sort of info about it around the internet. But I didn't found anything about it until DemonSpeed told me how to fix it. So my guess is that this problem doesn't happen to everybody.

I get the same effect in openMSX. But I'm not good enough in playing games to try this on a real machine...

Does this have something to do with the save ability? This game does save the stages using some sort of save gaming. There is a PAC/FM-PAC music and some disk option. I think that it is possible to continue playing from various stages ...

Yes, the game does seems to save within the same floppy disk. Like I mentioned in my first post, I downloaded the disk image from various sites thinking it could be damaged and they all had different saves at different points in the game.

Yes, the game saves to disk. My original copy works perfectly on my real MSX without ejecting/inserting disks. Can a diskimage be write-protected or something?
