I understand what ryjuzo is aiming for, but really, those agreements are allright if you´re a boss in some big company and you have justifiable fears that someone from rivalling company could try to infiltrate to your company to steal information which has value of hundreds of thousands or millions euros or whatever. You are not a such boss in this case and these fellow MSX´ers are not trying to get interviewed for a job in a such company and you are not going to pay them good salary to keep´em loyal and quiet.
Sometimes a bit less perfection can result a much easier life for you and others.
I know, for perfectionist it is hard to think "a bit less"...
But anyway, you got what I meant...
I agree with RyJuZo... to take something to a higher level you need a (this) serious approach. Personally I can't meet the requirements to be a beta-tester for this game so I won't ask him to. Other scenes are quite succesfull and maybe their more serious approach helped them with that.
Don't know what this project is about, but you've sold me a copy already with the suspense you've been creating. Man this game must be Super Deformed Solid Snatcher Snakes or something!
@Wolf, "Tools shouldn't cost that much time anyway": not the way you create them
For non-Dutch readers: "NUCHTER" means: sober, as in: not under the influence of alcohol (or other drugs). Often used in a wider sense, meaning: "down to earth, no nonsense" (like the average Dutch way of doing things).
Yeah thanks for that I couldn't find the right words at the time I wrote it.
You're making a game, but also all the tools to make it? No offense, but then you're a fool! There exist excellent tools for a wide variety of game-making tasks, and finding the right tool, getting to know it, is almost always easier than making your own.
Not true !
I in order to create a HIGH quality games you need professional tools. These I could NOT find ! Only small unrelated tools here and there which all lacked some much needed features.
For example:
My developerstudio (asm+debugger) can create roms of any kind with one push of a button or dos or even basic bin files. It also has source level debugging.
My gfx-designer can create gfx for msx1,msx2 and gfx9000. And export it in such a way you easily link it into your rom also with one push of a button.
The sprite-editor cannot only design msx1,msx2 or gfx9000 sprites but can also create "puppets" (multiple combined sprites) and store animation sequences. You can also name the sprites/puppets and these will be exported as labels for in your assembly.
and same goes for the music/sound and map editors etc...
So you see not a total waste of time in the long run. I will be able to produce games much faster now that I have these tools !

so true.....but I like life the HARD way
This game is going to be my very first release and I want it to be absolutely PERFECT !
and nothing should get the chance of messing that up.
Anyways I've received many emails already from people agreeing to my terms and willing to test for me so my terms cannot be that outreagous right ?
Now I just have to choose (wisely) 2 or 3 persons to do it...
@RyJuZo: I think you constantly have to defend yourself because people haven't seen anything yet! Isn't possible to make a small (promotional) movie of your new game and put it on Youtube??
Then everyone can see what (great) game you are working on!?!?!?!
Man this game must be Super Deformed Solid Snatcher Snakes or something!
Or Gradius Aventure Spirit of Gazzel Racing!

Not sure if I'll buy a cartridge of your game, I'll probably will, but:
Can you please distribute (or sell for a fair price) those development tools you just described?
I can sign a NDA to beta test them.

I guessed already that you would answer exactly like that!

Nice to hear!

no need to buy...Knightmare III-Raziëls revenge will be totally free !!! I'm entering it in the 2nd ed. of the Passion Msx compo..but ONLY if more people compete against me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The programs dont need anymore testing I'm afraid...they've proven themselves while making the game !
As for selling I dont know yet what I'm going to do...yet...might sell but dont know what to ask for them cause it's pretty impressive software (even if I say so myself ) and took alot of time to create !
I'll have to think some more about it...I'll let you know..when I know..
