Is there any tool I can run to dump the Kanji ROM from the Panasonic FS-UV1 Video Telopper? KANJIROM.BAS only seems to get the first 128KB, but I think this device should have 256KB of Kanji ROM
If you dump the 32kB BIOS and publish the sha1sum, we can see already whether it's unique or not.
Sorry, i forgot. The SHA1 for the Fenner 32kb bios it´s:
829C00C3114F25B3DAE5157C0A238B52A3AC37DB
Some people had been looking for the Finnish game Talvisota but googling "Talvisota MSX" found it straight away.
I dumped four more Aquarius cartridges. Two of them (Top Roller! and Warroid) exactly match known Japanese ROM releases
ROM fingerprint info:

829C00C3114F25B3DAE5157C0A238B52A3AC37DB
That's a common ROM:
$ grep -i 829C00C3114F25B3DAE5157C0A238B52A3AC37DB *xml AVT_DPC-200.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db Goldstar_FC-200.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db Philips_VG_8020.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db Toshiba_HX-20E.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db Toshiba_HX-22I.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db Toshiba_HX-51I.xml: 829c00c3114f25b3dae5157c0a238b52a3ac37db
Top Roller is same as the version published by Toshiba, and Warroid is same as the version published by ASCII.
Apparently my SkyGaldo is a different build of the game from others I found info elsewhere. Inside the first bytes of the ROM it has a different version identifier and build date too
Both the cartridge and my dump of it seem to work fine on an actual MSX though in openMSX I was seeing it HALT right away...
ROM fingerprint info:
32K SkyGaldo [v2.0] [1986-06-04] [_].rom crc32:ad8a70f5 md5:1b49d1f05282a015cfd5510fe0025790 sha1:bdfc16da84999e596efe750cb7ef5d79218e0433 sha256:9042b1c7052c652b46cb026b0bae4733ecf8c1af17ab612d7835336982566271
BTW this works fine in openMSX too, it just needs -romtype page12
, thanks Manuel for explaining in chat!
Is FM Musiwriter by AViC Soft / Rittor Music undumped?
Here's the ROM fingerprint info I get from my cartridge:
16K FM Musiwriter (Japan) [_].rom crc32:9b220029 md5:30954bd6ed90d6a84abb0c3678b32218 sha1:07299eb581da7d1d19cde35d39b16b3112e6a424 sha256:9ac138ec3f927a7427c67c9984ef08240d57844058022a41935ac505b9cb169b
In openMSX it seems to work using -machine Yamaha_CX5M
