is this topic about making a whole msx machine yourself?
or is it about making hardware like floppy disk interface, msx-music cartridge, a memory mapper etc?

I'm currently not interested in making whole MSX machines, but probably I will in the long-term future as more and more computers break down and it becomes harder to find a working unit.

I'm interested mostly in:

- Building standard extensions (RS232C, memory mappers, internal memory upgrades, etc)
- Repairing existing MSX machines

A dedicated website I think is best as technical stuff can get very in-depth and might be to 'intense' for a general MSX site ! I’ve seen other sites that are based around homebrew projects and they can be very lengthy !

Does anybody have website / web building skills ??

It would be great to have new people designing and building MSX hardware.

Is the host service down? I've been trying to reach the page for a while but all I get is a blank screen.

It seems ok for me now.

I don't think this is a problem at all. There are many lengthy discussions on the site (check the thread on SymbOS... ;-)). And there *is* a hardware section on the forum... why would it be a problem?

The problem is not in where to post, the problem is in ownership and responsibility for project outcomes, and support of users of the project. If I would post others' projects to gr8bit site, I would very carefully assess the quality of work, even probably helping developer to make it up to some standard of usability - because if I to host it, I will be partially responsible for the content and destiny of the users.

I agree with Eugeny. This is not the best place to host a hardware-oriented site, for reasons both technical (forum format not suitable) and organizational.

Too long discussions such as the SymbOS thread are a real problem. In the past, there were demands to split this thread in several threads and to open a specific SymbOS subforum. It has never been made by MRC, probably because some people find great to have such a very long thread. The result is that I don't read this thread since several years, just one time or two times accidentally and I'm pretty sure that many other MRC users have forgotten this thread because the discussion is actually about different problems concerning SymbOS without any 'guiding line".

Discussions about hardware improvements or new hardware can also be very long and I think the problem of updating pictures and data has already mentioned, as there are time limitations on MRC to edit the messages. It is an additionnal element of complexity if the hardware users want to have an updated discussion (what means especially the option to modify the first message in the discussion, seeing this first message as the summary of the discussion).
