Did you read the manual?
I'm not really sure that this wesite https://msxcartridgeshop.com/ is updated with the last compatibile release of Nextor, and what it could happen if there's a mismatch between version of Nextor, MM, partitions, etc. (for ex. the GR8NET could have problems in case of mismatches).
A complete update package and unique procedure is welcome.
You have to get the updated OPFXSD.COM, RECOVERY.ROM from msxcartridgeshop.com and the NEXTOR.ROM from konamiman’s github. Put these together with MSXDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM on a floppy disk and boot from that floppy.
Use OPFXSD to flash the latest recovery and Nextor kernel. To know which parameters you need first run OPFXSD without any parameters.

No, this is all irrelevant. The manual tells you exactly how to restore/update all the parts in the flash ROM with OPFXSD.
As for Nextor, you can just replace the files with the latest Nextor release. Well, I guess replacing the files on the ROM disk is a bit tricky. (Maybe it's easier to skip the entire ROM disk anyway?)
2 questions.
- Is there a good guide for updating the FMR cartridge to the latest software and firmware?
- Is it possible to (temporarily) make a: writeable? I wanted to add a few lines to the autoexec.bat, and then lock a: again.
Did you check the manual already?
Hello again,
Got my Emu-FDC (very nice!), so now I'm trying to boot from a disk image in it to upgrade my NEXTOR.ROM.
But... how do I boot from Emu-FDC (Slot 2) while MFR is inserted (Slot 1)? I tried holding "R", but just get a blue screen.
The disk image in Emu-FDC has the required system files and boots fine if I remove MFR and put Emu-FDC in Slot 1.
I'm trying to run rom files using sofarun 8 with my mfr sd 512 , I've set the sr.ini and srom.ini to path b: dsk and cas files i have no isue, but when I try to load a rom i still get, "write error writting drive a: " ,
I searched forum posts, didn't find it.
does anyone know what i've overlooked?
kind regards André
Hello Manuel.
Is it still possible to use Game Master 2 with MFR SCC+ SD?
In the menu the /B option is still mentioned, but in the manual it is not mentioned any more.
I tried to patch http://www.msxcartridgeshop.com/bin/beta/GM2-PACK.ips like told by you on page 47/95 of this topic, but this does not seem to work*.
*using MFR SCC+ SD in combination with standard Philips NMS8245 MSX2

Yes, it should work fine.
But GM2-PACK.ROM must be flashed using /B0 and the games you want to combine in /B1, /B2, /B3.

Yes, GM2-PACK.ROM flashed with /B0 (instead of /B1) that does the trick. Thx! @Guillian
