Hello, people.

Can you tell precisely, In which countries were MSX computers manufactured ?

Brazil (Epcom/Sharp, Gradiente)
Japan (Sony, Yamaha, Sanyo, Panasonic, a lot...)
Hong Kong (Spectravideo)
South Korea (Daewoo, Samsung)

I found pictures of some Philips computers made in Japan (VG-8020), and made in France (VG-8010). Maybe NMS-001 was made in Holland ?

The Italian Fenner MSX Computers seems to be licensed Korean/Japanse computers, as well all the "Arabian" MSX Computers.

Any in Spain ?

Where the Goldstar MSX were made ?

Please contribute with all the information you know, thanks.

- Argentina (Talent)
- Netherlands (Philips)
- Italy (Fenner)

Goldstar is now know as LG (that means Lucky-Goldstar btw), and it's a south korean company

There were Spectravideos made in Hong Kong, but they're not a country.

None: Some info was obtained from the HCM website.

Hello, Mr.

Okay... I have a Talent TPC-310.
Talent TPC-310
I looked at the bottom and the label says "INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA":
Talent TPC-310 bottom label

All Daewoo CPC-200 clones were manufactured in their respective licensed countries ?

I knew about Goldstar and LG, but you mean that all Goldstar MSXes were manufactured in Korea ?

About Hong-Kong... OK It's not a country... It's China, but at that time it was under control of UK... so, it's a tricky one.

I have an SVI -728 made in Hong Kong. Not all MSX models of Spectravideo were made in HK ?

I bought an European Toshiba HX-10 (made in Japan), a Philips VG-8020 (maybe made in Japan too):
VG-8020/40 bottom label

Also an AX-170 (made in Japan :-/):
AX-170 bottom label

The VG-8235 was made in Japan too ?
VG8235/02 label

I am concerned about that, because if I want to buy a "Spanish" MSX, a "Dutch" MSX, a "French" MSX, maybe a "German" MSX or an "Italian" MSX... Which models should I buy ?

For example, The HCM site says "country: Japan" for all three SVI models, but I doubt they were manufactured in Japan...
This site says the manufacturing of Spectravideo was made by Bondwell in HK:

Who to trust ?
:o

And... I think I know you from somewhere.... Haven't we met Before ?

By the way, the SVI-728 I bought is a "Spanish" version, with the "Ñ" key.

For a "French MSX", I would love to buy a Sanyo PHC-28L with AZERTY keyboard, but it was made in Japan too:
SANYO PHC-28L
PHC-28L label

I know this beauty was made for Philips, but in France:
Philips VG-8000
VG-8010 label

The VG-8020 model I bought is the PAL model, with the black box:
VG-8020

If it was one of the black SECAM version, it would be a nice mix: Made by Kyocera Japan for Philips Nederlands to use in France...

For an "Italian" MSX: Philips NMS-801:

Philips NMS-801 label

This was the model I referred wrongly as NMS-001 in the first post.

There was no production of MSX machines in the Netherlands. Philips was either Japan or France, indeed.

Hello, Jitursan.

Searching a bit more, I found:

Dynadata DPC-200 seems to be manufactured in Korea, for Spain:
Dynadata DPC-200

Dragon MSX was really made in Spain, but very few prototypes were made:

Thank you very much for the information.

jltursan, just for curiousity, is there something wrong in Dragon´s MSX? Or is it just about personal taste, that you don´t like Dragon´s design or something? Just for curiousity. :)
