Actually DSK-PRO 11.1 and its PDI format has very few limitations...
It works perfectly for the majority of protections. In Brazil, it copies all protected disks.

Besides, DSKPRO is (as far as I know) the only program that can write a disk image that contains a copy protection back to a really floppy disk. Yes, it won't work for all copy protected disks... that's due to limitations of the WD2793 itself. You'll need an Amiga or so to do that

And remember, DMK Creator works (or will work) for all protected disks for the purpose of creating DMK disk images.

Hello, please look at my MSX SOFTWARE PRESERVATION PAGE.

Look for file NEMESIS1.ZIP

It has 3 files inside. Image in format IMD made long ago. And images DMK made with DMK Creator 3.2 and PDI made with DSKPRO 11.1

Please analyze it, test it, test the conversion tools, and say if the tools and images are suitable for preservation purposes.

Added SLAYDOCK.ZIP in three formats: IMD,DMK and PDI. Note images were created from 360Kb disk with 42 tracks (0-41). Regards.

Added NEMERDMK.ZIP and SLAYRDMK.ZIP extracted with READ-DMK v0.38 and interface DDX 3.0e (MICROSOL type), double side, 42 tracks. I was not able to combine DAT files here in my PC. Got 'acess denied' error.

hello!
I've always been interested on protected disk preservation and followed the DSK-Pro evolution and all the fact about DMK or PDI been better one or the other.I have even been one of the Betatesters for DSK-PRO . Finally PDT gave the possibility of rebuilding the original Disk through combining PDT and DSK-PRO , converting first a DMK file to a PDI one , after succeeding on this task trying to use the PDI files with DSK-PRO (I use 11.6 version).But I always get the deceiving advice "Not a valid 2.0 PDI" and I get this not only with the files I obtain from PDT but even with those given by DSK-PRO author himself with some of his packages I'm really confused at the moment. There is something wrong or missing here , any Idea?

Well , still no help or any idea , but as I try by myself , I repeated the procedure this time with DSKPRO 11,1 and this one
accepts the file , beguins reading but afterawrds does no other thing.

After doing several operations the result is that DSK-PRO 11.6 is wrong or corrupted as it's not able to copy any disk protected or not except for the option C copy disk to disk and not protected disks with target disk A: any other thing is impossible, even if it reads the disk , if the target is B: it's not able to write anything. The message to anounce it's saving the sector is there but the drive light is off and nothing is writen.

Gentleman, DSK-PRO 11.6 works pretty well but it needs DOS2 or Nextor to work perfectly.
With DOS1 it works parcially just with unprotected disks.
So, boot with a mega mapper, or a megaflashrom or any other cartridge with DOS2 or Nextor.
Then start the file DSK-PRO.com
