Good that it's solved. You can set a setting to default by unsetting it in the console: unset gamma

When running OpenMSX (& Catapult) and pressing 'button' Reset, related value goes to 0, except gamma (0.1).

Ah, the one in Catapult? For gamma, it should go to the default of 1.1 if you press it. It does so here. And it has been 1.1 by default since 2004 or so. Perhaps you misread?

Those buttons sets related setting to 0...

They set them on default value. For gamma, that is 1.1.
