1) Add to it a mouse and a printer, and you will have an idea about how the computer class looked in ex-USSR
(there are some schools where Yamaha MSX classes are still in use !)

2) As you see on the photo above, Jazzy tried to help with emulation of the mentioned network and got a YM3802 datasheet.
I hope the buyer will share efforts to make emulation true, and it will be possible to connect emulator on PC to networked Yamaha with MSX-link cable.

What happen to the second floppy drive? Why the gaping hole?

If someone (Jetze?) can scan that YM3802 datasheet, it might be very helpful for emulation.

I bought this manual form some guy in the USA and after that Hans Otten was so kind to scan the document and host it on his site.

Looking at those connectors, and a schematic on one of the linked pages, my though was: "I'm looking at a MIDI interface!" (RS232 serial driver IC, current loop, fast optocouplers, 5p DIN connectors). And a MIDI controller on the inside...

So, obvious question is: is it? Can you use standard MIDI cabling to connect the machines? If so, it would be quite easy to hook up these machines to MIDI equipment, Philips Music Module or MIDI-equipped PC sound cards. If not (but same technology interface), it might still be possible using a custom cable. Or perhaps modify the pinout on those DIN connectors to match MIDI standard?

That's right RetroTechie, the core of the network module is also used as a MIDI processor. Actually Tim Taspulatov has done a lot of work in this field, please check: http://www.msx.org/MSX-Network-to-RS232-device.newspost2586.html

RetroTechie, the cable is standard MIDI one. The clock is not - 38400 instead of 31250.
