Anything higher than MSX1 that is not released on tape is fine with me. Never had an MSX1 or tape recorder, so neither are interesting or 'pure' to me.
What are your expectations?
It appears that TurboR is getting more hits. ;-)
Yes. That is as expected but makes no real sense. Pong on the turboR is just as much fun as on MSX1
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see more games for the, atm neglected, MSX2 and up. I just hate to see scrolling games for the sake of scrolling and 256 color games for the sake of 256 colors.
P.S. and totally OT: I would LOVE to see a sequel to Higemaru!
The R800 makes acceptable also basic spaghetti coding, anuway I would like to see something undoable on msx2 when I say I would like to see TR games
It's not soooooooo difficult, a onmidirectional multiscroll game on bitmap without stressing the vdp is undoable on msx2. But this is also doable on msx2+.
The main difference is where the computations get heavy. Your 3D engine is a very good example.
MSX programmers often blame the VDP for lower performances. But, in the years, even the z80 became a bottleneck.
Here is the place of R800.... Even a chess game could benefit from R800. But some complex AI games also...
